Sponsor a Family This Christmas

Local families on Maryland's Eastern Shore have asked us for help with Christmas this year — more of them than our budget can cover. Sponsor one person for about $80, give any amount, or cover a whole family — every gift means one more family gets a yes instead of a waitlist.

How it works

Simple, the way it's always worked in small towns — a neighbor covers Christmas for a neighbor, and Faithworks makes the connection.

1

Pick who to sponsor

Browse the families below and choose one person, a whole family, or just give an amount. You'll see each person listed as Mom, Dad, or Child One, Child Two — plus ages, sizes, and their wish list. That's all you need to shop well.

2

Choose how to give

Buy the gifts yourself and drop them off, or donate the amount and Faithworks does the shopping. Either way, the family is covered.

3

We deliver the joy

Gifts are due one week before the family pickup celebration (date to be announced). Families pick up their gifts at the celebration — you stay anonymous, they just know a neighbor cared.

Two ways to give

Pick whichever fits your life this season. Both count the same to the family on the other end.

Option A

Shop the list yourself

Some folks love the shopping — picking out the coat, the toy, the book. If that's you:

  • Pick your family and sign up below — we'll confirm they're yours.
  • Buy the gifts on their list — one person comes to about $80, and each family's own estimate is on their profile below.
  • Drop the gifts off with Faithworks by the due date — we'll email you the drop-off details.

Meet the families

These are real families who signed up with Faithworks and shared their gift lists with us. Prices are our best estimates to help you plan. More families will be added as their lists come in.

More families are waiting. Twenty-nine families have signed up so far, and new gift lists are still coming in. If the families above are all sponsored — or you'd rather we match you — choose “First family available” in the sign-up form and we'll pair you with the next family whose list is ready.

Families stay private. Always.

Sponsoring is generous — it should never cost a family their dignity. So Faithworks stays in the middle from start to finish, and a family's private information never changes hands.

  • You see: ages, clothing & shoe sizes, and the wish list — everyone listed as Mom, Dad, Child One, Child Two, never by name.
  • You never see: names, addresses, phone numbers, or emails.
  • Families never get your contact info either — just their gifts, and the knowledge that a neighbor cared.
  • Questions any time: info@faithworksfoundation.com

Good questions

How much does it cost?

Less than you might think — one person runs about $80: two things they need, plus one wish. A whole family costs more and it varies a lot, roughly $333 to $1,040 at regular prices depending on their wishes, averaging around $400 — every profile shows its own estimate, so you'll know the real number before you choose. And if a full family or even a full person isn't in the cards, a partial gift still counts — donate any amount or shop part of a list, and we'll combine gifts to complete it.

When are gifts due?

One week before the family pickup celebration. The celebration date will be announced soon, and we'll email every sponsor the exact due date and drop-off details as soon as it's set.

Can a group sponsor a family?

Absolutely — church groups, workplaces, and extended families do this together all the time. One person signs up as the contact, and the group splits the list or the cost however you like.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Faithworks Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are tax-deductible. Donate through PayPal and you'll get a receipt automatically; if you shop the list yourself, email us and we'll send a donation acknowledgment for the gifts you dropped off.

What if the family I picked is already sponsored?

We'll let you know right away and offer you the next family waiting — there are more families than sponsors right now, so nobody goes unmatched.

Can I meet the family?

To protect their privacy, sponsors and families don't meet or exchange contact information. What you can do is include a short unsigned note with the gifts — families tell us those notes mean the world.
